Depending on what you are doing within the configuration of Flow you will need to use a particular set of users. This can often cause confusion as to which set of users are required at a particular point in the configuration.
Flow maintains its own list of users accounts to provide access to Flow Designer. This set of users is configured within the Flow Designer itself and stored within the configuration database. By default every new configuration database has a FloAdmin user (the password is for this user is also FloAdmin). Flow users are case sensitive for both the username and password.
As well as users created within Flow, you can also link Windows user accounts into Flow. This allows you to open Flow simply by being logged into Windows with an account that is linked into Flow. By default the "Everyone" windows user account is linked into Flow - this means that anyone can open Flow initially. You should restrict this by setting the Everyone user to "denied" (you cannot delete the Everyone user) and adding specific windows user accounts.
Throughout this guide when you see reference to Flow Users you should use one of these user accounts
All new configuration databases start with a default administrator user called FloAdmin. The default password for this account is also FloAdmin. Both Username and Password are case sensitive. All new configuration databases also include the "Everyone" windows user account.
The default password is built into the password box as an auto-complete value - this means that just typing f into the password field will auto-complete the password for you (auto-complete will set the correct case).
Flow works with SQL databases both to store its own configuration as well as to read and write data as part of an Action you have configured. When connecting to databases you need to provide the database username and password. This set of users is configured within the database platform and is independent of Flow. You manage these user accounts by using the database administrator. For instance in the case of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 you would manage the users within Microsoft SQL Management Console.
Database Users are used in System Connections and DB Connections
Throughout this guide when you see reference to Database Users you should use one of these user accounts
Flow maintains a list of trading partners each with a username and password. These are used by trading partners to connect to your Flow system to send or receive data files directed at them. This set of users is configured within the Flow Designer and stored within the configuration database.
Partner Users are used by trading partners when connecting to FlowTransportWeb.
Throughout this guide when you see reference to Partner Users you should use one of these user accounts.
